LtGen Ferdinand M Cartujano PAF(Ret), President of the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP), received LtGen Andrew Harrison of the Royal British Army, Deputy Commander of the United Nations Command (UNC) based in the Republic of Korea, during his visit to the campus on 24 February 2023. LtGen Harrison was accompanied by BGen John Carey of Australia, LtCol Oliver Mikulskis, and Cpt Andrew Haughian of the U.K.
The delegation of the UNC also met with NDCP officials, faculty members, personnel, and select students of the Master in National Security Administration Regular Course 58 and Class Officers of the National Security Studies Program Class 04.
During the engagement, LtGen Harrison provided a briefing on the role of the UNC and the evolving situation in the Korean Peninsula. The visit is also part of the command’s efforts to actively engage with all sending states to the Korean War.
Prior to his stop at the NDCP, the UNC delegation also paid a visit to the officials of the departments of Foreign Affairs, National Defense, and the General Headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
