The National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP), through the Academic Affairs Division, held a special lecture for the members of the Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) Regular Class 57 (RC-57) on 10 August 2022. The lecture featured Hon. Aniel Pahladsingh, Deputy Judge, District Court of Rotterdam of the Netherlands
The activity entitled, “Fundamental Rights in the European Union (EU) and the Role of the Military,” tackled the EU’s Charter of Rights, which mainly promotes human rights. Hon Pahladsingh discussed these rights in connection with cases in Courts of Justice in the EU involving the military.
Members of RC-57 engaged the speaker on topics covering environmental policies in the EU, communist insurgency, and islamophobia.
Hon. Pahladsingh is an EU lawyer and writer born in the Netherlands with a Surinamese Dutch background. He specializes in the transposition of Europe to member states, where he approaches important issues from various functions he has had (legal advisor, judge, writer, director).
