The delegation from the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP), headed by LTGEN Ferdinand M Cartujano PAF (Ret), together with the students of the Master in National Security Administration for Senior Executives (MNSA SE) Class 02 conducted a field study visit at the Headquarters of the Philippine Navy on 26 October 2023, as part of the module on Defense and Security Strategy (NSA 208).
RADM Caesar Bernard N Valencia PN, the Vice Commander of the Philippine Navy, warmly welcomed the delegation. Among the Philippine Navy officials present was RADM Alfonso F Torres Jr PN, the Commander for Naval Education, Training and Doctrine Command.
The briefing and discussion at the Philippine Navy centered on the Philippine Navy’s mission to support the efforts of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on naval and maritime protection, especially in the West Philippine Sea, as well as the plans on modernizing the Philippine Navy fleets and strengthening combat forces.
The field visit also included a survey of the Manila Bay coast aboard the Navy’s Multi-Purpose Assault Craft (MPAC).
