LEARNING CURVE | PH #Navy co-hosts Experts’ Dialogue with NDCP
The Philippine Navy, through the Office of Naval Strategic Studies and Strategy Management (ONSSSM), collaborated with the Philippine Center of Excellence in Defense Development and Security (PCEDS) of the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) to host an Experts’ Dialogue with the theme “China’s Strategic Trends in an Era of Strategic Competition” at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, #QuezonCity on 29 March.
The roundtable discussion provided an avenue for subject-matter experts, practitioners, and policy-makers to exchange insights toward a shared understanding of the regional security environment, and the effects of the geopolitical competition between great powers within our shared regional security environment.
The insights provided also aimed to contribute to existing policy and security discussions that provide an understanding of the geopolitical dynamics of the Asia-Pacific region.
This year’s Experts’ Dialogue was joined by professors from #Japan’s National Institute for Defense Studies (NIDS), Professor Masayuki Masuda and Associate Professor Tomoaki Yoshida, as it also served as a consultation activity on their ongoing update of the East Asia Review.
The round table discussion featured NDCP President, LtGen Ferdinand Cartujano (Ret), providing the opening remarks. PCEDS Director, Prof Rej Torrecampo, moderated the discussion while ONSSSM Analyst Vincent Kyle Parada served as the emcee for the event.
The event concluded with Navy Chief, VAdm Toribio Adaci Jr., delivering the closing remarks where he underscored that “making exchanges like this is a practical step toward a shared vision of peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific.”
